QB Jake Retzlaff Breaks Out Tater Tots To Support BYU Basketball

DENVER – The BYU Cougars just took down the Wisconsin Badgers in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament, punching their ticket to the Sweet 16 for the first time since Jimmermania.

Back at home, other Cougars had the squad’s back, with BYU Quarterback Jake Retzlaff eating a tater tot-stuffed hot dog and recreating an infamous meme while watching the game.

Over the last week since the Big 12 Tournament, Richie Saunders has become the tater tot king after the nation discovered that the inventor of the delicious snack is a few generations down his family tree.

To honor the BYU star and spud royalty, Retzlaff is chowing down on a starchy hot dog from Chubbys.

Before tipoff between the Cougars and the Badgers, Jake Retzlaff paid homage to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens and his unforgettable reaction to hearing his name called in the NFL Draft in 2022.

The star BYU quarterback was also hyped when the Cougars survived the late Wisconsin comeback to advance to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2011.

Egor Demin showed a chippy side we haven’t seen much from him

To be a high-level NBA draft prospect as BYU freshman guard Egor Demin is, you have to be an incredibly competitive person. Demin has always fit that characteristic.

However, it wasn’t always on display in Big 12 play.

During Saturday’s game against Wisconsin, with a Sweet 16 appearance on the line, Demin brought out the fire for all to see.

Demin had some extracurricular activity with Wisconsin guard John Blackwell that led to refs warning the heralded guard.

The freshman standout followed that up with a big three-pointer to put BYU up 36-24 in the first half. He showed a lot of emotion as he ran back down the court on defense.
