BYU football depth chart: Stanford week notes
Following an impressive victory over an FCS opponent, there aren’t many changes to the depth chart, but there are a few. Here are the notes.
Weylin Lapuaho was removed from the depth chart
Last week, BYU interior offensive lineman Weylin Lapuaho was out due to an injury. Entering week two against Stanford, Lapuaho is removed from the depth chart at the left guard position.
In place of him are Sonny Makasini and Kyle Sfarcioc.
The ‘OR’ next to Justin Kirkland was removed
Oklahoma State nose tackle transfer Justin Kirkland didn’t play last week due to a knee injury. On last week’s depth chart, he was listed on the second unit with an ‘OR’ next to his name, alongside Weber State transfer Kaufusi Pafoke.
Entering the week two matchup against Stanford, there’s no ‘OR’ between Kirkland and Pafoke. Kirkland is listed as the sole second-teamer behind Keanu Tanuvasa.
Hunter Clegg moves up to Outside Edge second unit
True freshman Hunter Clegg is now the primary backup at outside edge on this week’s depth chart. Last week, Clegg was one of three players in the mix for the second-team unit.
Clegg played 16 snaps and recorded one tackle in the victory over Portland State.
A former four-star recruit from American Fork High School, Clegg joined the BYU football program following a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He initially signed with the University of Utah out of high school.
