Salt Lake County Player of the Week – Jaxon Hunt, Mountain Ridge
Jaxon Hunt and the Mountain Ridge Sentinels played host to Copper Hills High School in Region 2 action last Friday. Hunt wasted no time settling in as he hooked up with Tytan DeJong just 27 seconds into the game for a touchdown and the Sentinels took off from there. They raced out to 28-0 halftime lead and didn’t look back.
Coming out of the locker room, Hunt and the Mountain Ridge offense were slowed by the Grizzlies’ defense intially but a trio of second half touchdown passes ensured the Sentinels would coast to a 49-15 victory. Hunt finished the game completing 25-of-35 passes for 380 yards and five touchdowns while adding 36 yards and another touchdown on the ground. Mountain Ridge improved to 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in region play.
