SALT LAKE CITY – The No. 10 American Fork Cavemen shocked the No. 1 Lone Peak Knights in week seven of 6A high school football on Friday.
Fresh off an upset win over the Corner Canyon Chargers in week six, the Knights took their first loss on the road in American Fork, 31-28.
Trailing 28-14 heading into the fourth, Lone Peak would score back-to-back TDs to even the score at 28-28. American Fork would march down the field on its final drive and split the uprights on a 40-yard field goal with less than 30 seconds on the clock.

Region 1
Layton Lancers 20 @ Weber Warriors 48
The Weber Warriors scored 14 unanswered points in the first quarter, setting up a win over the Layton Lancers. Weber’s Dyson Parker had four rushing touchdowns, three of which came in the first half. Layton running back Gavin Hurst had two touchdowns of his own.
No. 11 Syracuse Titans 22 @ No. 6 Davis Darts 54
The Davis Darts also came out of the gates strong, scoring 20 points in the first quarter of their victory over the Syracuse Titans. The Darts went on to score double-digit points in each of the first three quarters. Quarterback Tradon Bessinger threw six passing touchdowns to five different receivers. Jaxton Itaaheau had two TDs through the air and a third on the ground.

Region 2
No. 12 Mountain Ridge Sentinels 41 @ Riverton Silverwolves 19
The Mountain Ridge Sentinels took a 24-0 lead into halftime and cruised to a week seven win over the Riverton Silverwolves. Quarterback Jaxon Hunt had four passing touchdowns, and all four went to Kohen Cunningham. The fifth TD came on the ground in the third quarter from Ashton Gates.
Bingham Miners 49 @ Cedar Valley Aviators 39
The Cedar Valley Aviators made it somewhat interesting with 17 points in the fourth quarter, but the Bingham Miners’ lead was too much to overcome as they picked up their second win of the season. Five of Bingham’s six scored came on the ground.
Copper Hills Grizzlies 21 @ Westlake Thunder 35
The Westlake Thunder pulled away from the Copper Hills Grizzlies behind a 21-point third quarter on Friday. All three touchdowns in that quarter came from Malik Sika. Quarterback Bosten Fountaine and Mika connected four times in the end zone.
Region 3
No. 2 Skyridge Falcons 14 @ No. 3 Corner Canyon Chargers 49
The Corner Canyon Chargers bounced back from their week six loss with a blowout home win over the Skyridge Falcons. The Chargers scored 28 points in the second quarter, led by running back Jackson Carruth, who finished with four touchdowns. Quarterback Helaman Casuga also had two passing scores, both to Jaden Allen.

Non-Region
No. 8 Herriman Mustangs 22 @ No. 7 Lehi Pioneers 21
The Herriman Mustangs squeaked out a one-point win over the Lehi Pioneers in the only non-region week seven matchup in 6A. Trailing in the final minutes, Herriman’s Tyler Messer connected with Gavin Hansen from 20-yards out for a game-winning TD.
