SALT LAKE CITY — The No. 22 Stansbury Stallions prevailed over the No. 23 Sky View Bobcats in a high-scoring, tightly-contested match in week nine of 4A high school football on Thursday.

A shootout in Smithfield had the Bobcats taking a 21-20 lead at halftime. Stansbury scored 20 unanswered points in the third quarter to take a 40-21 lead entering the fourth quarter.

Sky View responded with a 25-point fourth quarter but couldn’t tie the game with a PAT with 1:28 left in the game.

For Stansbury, Brighton Reutzel threw five touchdown passes to five different receivers, including Noah Syphus, Lael Rhodes, Ladarius Rhodes, Lincoln Reutzel, and Carter Petersen. Brighton Reutzel and Petersen each added a rushing touchdown for the Stallions.

For Sky View, Jack Clark had three passing touchdowns, connecting with Nixon Bohm, Xander Stokes, and Zachary Oxborrow. Clark also ran in three touchdowns, while Stokes added one rushing score.

Week 9 Recap For 4A Utah High School Football

Region 8

Timpanogos Timberwolves 2 @ Park City Miners 30 (Thurs.)

Park City opened the game with an 80-yard touchdown connection between Josh Hofer and Eli Warner. The Miners made three field goals to take a 16-0 lead at the halftime break. Early in the third quarter, Warner returned a punt 67 yards for a touchdown. Hofer added a field goal midway through the fourth quarter as the Miners shut down the Timberwolves.

Mountain View Bruins 7 @ Salem Hills Skyhawks 42 (Thurs.)

Salem Hills QB Ryder Hales threw one passing touchdown to Joe Hughes. Benjamin Staheli and Tregan Fusselman each ran in two touchdowns, while Treygan Kilpatrick added one rushing score for the Skyhawks. Hyrum Stafford ran in a five-yard TD in the fourth quarter for Mountain View’s only score of the game.

Uintah Utes 2 @ Provo Bulldogs 64

The Provo Bulldogs scored 30 or more points in each of the first two quarters of their win over the Uintah Utes on Friday. Provo quarterback Gehrig Orchard threw six passing touchdowns in the win. Four of them went to Ronnie Wright, and the other two were caught by Griffin DeMartini. The Bulldogs also had two defensive touchdowns. Demartini added a 28-yard pick-six, and Julius Pan also had an interception returned for a score.

Region 10

Murray Spartans 55 @ Juan Diego Soaring Eagle 20 (Thurs.)

The Spartans jumped out to a 27-7 lead in the first half and never looked back. Phil Holland threw two touchdown passes, one each to Carson Davis and Evan Talbot. Cruz Gardner ran in two touchdowns, while Martin Boldin and Roman Israyelyan each added one score on the ground for the Spartans. One Vea scored two rushing touchdowns for the Soaring Eagle, while Oscar Rodriquez added one.

East Leopards 21 @ Jordan Beetdiggers 17 (Thurs.)

East scored first on a 50-yard rushing TD from Asaeli Otukolo. Jordan scored 17 unanswered with a rushing score from Gavin Gunnarson, a passing touchdown from Dylan Suthar to Bradey Barney, and a 10-yard field goal as the Beetdiggers took a 17-7 lead at the half. The Leopards picked up a touchdown in the third quarter with Dru Reuss finding Joseph Cooley from eight yards out. Otukolo scored the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth to complete the comeback for East.

Highland Rams 24 @ Skyline Eagles 7

The Highland Rams handed the Skyline Eagles their second loss of the season in a stunner on the road on Friday. After a scoreless first quarter, Highland dropped 14 in the second quarter and took that two-possession lead into the break. They matched Skyline’s TD in the third and added a field goal in the fourth. Highland’s William Bauman had both a passing TD and a rushing TD in week nine.

Region 11

Green Canyon Wolves 14 @ No. 4 Ridgeline Riverhawks 49 (Weds.)

Nate Dahle was on fire in the first half, throwing six of his seven touchdown passes in the second half. He connected with Graham Livingston three times, Hunter Knighton twice, and Noah Fiefia and Owen Leishman once each. For Green Canyon, Ethan Munk found Bryson Pabst for a 10-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter.

Deseret Peak Golden Eagles 7 @ Bear River Bears 44 (Thurs.)

Bear River took a 23-0 lead in the first half and didn’t look back. Korver Riley threw one touchdown pass to Eli Braegger for the Bears. They also had two rushing touchdowns from Ridgdon Vonk, while Riley and Oaklin Martin each scored once on the ground. Cruze Anderson had a 52-yard pick-six for Deseret Peak in the third quarter.

Tooele Buffaloes 7 @ Mountain Crest Mustangs 49 (Thurs.)

The Mustangs had a 42-0 lead entering the fourth quarter and picked up a lopsided win over Tooele. Brayden Larsen tossed three touchdown passes, two to Kai Passey and one to Kael Olsen. Carter Egbert ran in two touchdowns, while Santiago Huerta and Larsen each added one TD on the ground. Gus Pater threw Tooele’s lone touchdown pass.
