SALT LAKE CITY – The Mr. Mac Utah County High School Player of the Week is awarded each week to the top prep boy’s and girl’s basketball players in Utah County. Sponsored by Mr. Mac, it honors athletes for their performances on the court and exceptional play. Our winners for week one were Madi Andrews from Lehi High School and Jax Clark from American Fork High School
Utah County Players of the Week – Madi Andrews & Jax Clark
Madi Andrews and the Lehi Pioneers enjoyed a busy, but undefeated week as they piled up four victories. She began the week with 22 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and three assists in a 57-37 win over Timpview. She followed that up with 21 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 72-35 rout of Sky View before scoring 12 points in their 37-27 victory over Pine View. She capped the week with four points, two rebounds and two steals in a 75-30 blowout of Crimson Cliffs in the finale of the Southern Classic.
Jax Clark and the American Fork Cavemen rolled to a trio of victories last week as they bounced back from a tough start to the season. In a 57-48 victory over Highland, Clark tallied 17 points, five rebounds and five assists. He followed that up with starring performances in the Corner Canyon Tournament, racking up 16 points, 11 rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 60-43 win over Mountain Vista (CO) and then had 12 points, eight rebounds and one block in their 55-42 victory over Rock Canyon (CO)
