BYU Football Unveils New Helmet For Pop-Tarts Bowl

PROVO, Utah – BYU football will wear a helmet that embraces the theme of the Pop-Tarts Bowl.
The 11-2 Cougars, ranked No. 12 in the final College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings, will wear helmets with sprinkles in the stripes and on the front and back bumpers.

BYU’s stretch Y does not feature any sprinkles.
The Pop-Tarts Bowl has branded itself this year as “The People’s National Championship.” It’s hard to argue with that messaging when the teams are wearing helmets with sprinkles to embrace the Pop-Tart fun.
Along with BYU, No. 22 Georgia Tech will wear a Pop-Tarts-inspired helmet. Unlike BYU, however, their “GT” logo will feature sprinkles.
It’s the first time since 2011 that BYU will wear a helmet with decals that represent the theme of the bowl game they are playing in.

The last time it happened was at the Armed Forces Bowl in 2011. BYU donned a digital camo decal on the helmet in a last-second win over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane.
This alternate helmet design will give BYU its 13th different uniform combination in 2025.

BYU is the designated home team in the Pop-Tarts Bowl matchup that will occur on Saturday, December 27, at 1:30 p.m. (MST) on ABC and KSL NewsRadio.
BYU football uniform combinations for the 2025 season
Here’s a look at the different uniform combinations that BYU football has worn during the 2025 season.
Portland State – Win, 69-0
Uniform combination: Navy blue helmet, navy blue uniform, white pants.
Stanford – Win, 27-3
Uniform combination: White helmet with royal blue decals and white facemask; royal blue uniform, white pants.
at East Carolina – Win, 34-13
Uniform combination: White helmet with royal blue decals and royal blue facemask; white uniform, and royal blue pants.
at Colorado – Win, 24-21
Uniform combination: All-white uniform with royal blue numbers and stripes, and a white facemask.
West Virginia – Win, 38-24
Uniform combination: Royal blue jersey and pants with a white helmet and royal blue facemask.
at Arizona – Win, 33-27 (2OT)
Uniform combination: Royal blue helmet with royal blue facemask, white jersey, royal blue pants.
Utah – Win, 24-21
Uniform combination: All-Royal Blue
at Iowa State – Win, 41-27
Uniform combination: Royal blue helmet with white facemask, white uniform, royal blue pants.
at Texas Tech – Loss, 7-29
Uniform combination: Royal Blue helmet with white facemask, royal blue uniform, royal blue pants.
TCU – Win, 44-13
