BYU Basketball’s Abdullah Ahmed Out For TCU Game

PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball sophomore Abdullah Ahmed is “OUT” for Wednesday night’s game against TCU.
The backup center was listed as “Probable” on yesterday’s initial report, which puts players at a 75% chance of playing.

Fast forward to Wednesday night, 90 minutes before tip-off, and Ahmed was officially ruled out for the game.
BYU head coach Kevin Young told Greg Wrubell in a pregame radio chat that Ahmed “banged up his shoulder a little bit.”
Without Ahmed, BYU will continue to start Keba Keita at center, with Mihailo Boskovic and Khadim Mboup as backups.
True freshman Xavion Staton was also ruled “OUT” for tonight’s game.
Ahmed joined the BYU basketball team at midseason after spending the past two years in the G-League. He’s appeared in four games, posting averages of 2.3 points, 2.8 blocks, and 4.5 rebounds per game.
