SALT LAKE CITY – Captain Clayton Keller will get most of the credit for Wednesday night’s rousing win over Philadelphia after forcing overtime before scoring the game-winner off a pass from Dylan Guenther.
It was far from a one-man show for the streaking Utah Mammoth.
A power play goal, critical saves, and a complete team effort helped Utah storm back from down 3-0 for a 5-4 overtime victory.
The Mammoth (26-20-4, 56 pts) battled the Flyers (23-17-9, 55 pts) at Delta Center on Wednesday, January 21.

Keller’s first goal (15) goes in the books as the first 6-on-5 goal in Mammoth history, forcing overtime with 34 seconds left.

The Team USA forward returned in OT to register his fourth game-winner of the season.
No goaltender is happy after giving up four goals, but Karel Vejmelka shouldn’t be too hard on himself following tonight’s win.
Already trailing 4-2, Trevor Zegras had a golden opportunity to put the game away in transition.

Travis Konecty skated into the zone before zipping a pass to a speeding Zegras.
Zegras snapped a wrister that was swallowed up in the glove of a sprawling Vejmelka to preserve a two-goal difference.
Midway through the final period, Jack McBain decided to make his presence felt.
The hulking Utah forward dropped the gloves against Noah Juulsen after Juulsen was whistled for roughing.
McBain took his time before unleashing a series of rights and dragging his opponent to the ice.

The sequence must have motivated his teammates, who scored a goal 58 seconds later.
Utah controlled the ensuing power play until Guenther ripped a shot from the slot that defelected of of Barrett Hayton into the net.

Nick Schmaltz is Utah’s second-leading scorer with 18 goals, but it was on the defensive end where he helped turn the tide against Philadelphia.
Philly forward Garnet Hathaway escaped into the open ice with an empty net in front of him. Rather than fire the puck into the goal, Hathaway took a couple extra strides, allowing Schmaltz to close from behind.
Hathaway had a clear path to the open net with nobody in front, but Schmaltz lifted his stick to save an empty netter.
