Utah County High School Basketball Players of the Week – Week 12 – Leah Bailey & Lucas Castagnetto

SALT LAKE CITY – The Mr. Mac Utah County High School Player of the Week is awarded each week to the top prep boy’s and girl’s basketball players in Utah County. Sponsored by Mr. Mac, it honors athletes for their performances on the court and exceptional play. Our winners for week one were Leah Bailey from Maple Mountain High School and Lucas Castagnetto from Provo High School.

Utah County Players of the Week – Leah Bailey & Lucas Castagnetto

Leah Bailey was a steady presence for the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles as they advanced in the 5A Playoffs. In a win over Salem Hills, she tallied 12 points five assists, three rebounds and a steal. She then followed that up with 22 points, five rebounds and three assists as they upset Olympus on the road.

Lucas Castagnetto helped power the Provo Bulldogs to their first state championship in 18 years. In their quarterfinal win over Sky View he tallied two points and three rebounds. he ten tacked on 10 points, four rebounds one assist and one steal in their semifinal victory over Dixie. He then capped the week and season with 15 points on five made three-pointers to go with five rebounds and one steal in their 4A state title game win over Hurricane.
