Brooks Bahr: Combo guard out of Keller, Texas
Coming out of Keller High School in Texas, Bahr was one of the last recruits to commit and sign with former BYU head coach Mark Pope. He signed with BYU over a final five that included Utah, USC, Wake Forest, and Saint Mary’s.
A 6-foot-4, 180-pound combo guard, Bahr was the 123rd overall prospect in the country for the class of 2024 by 247Sports.
Bahr averaged 15.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game over his four years as a varsity player at Keller High School. He had his senior season cut short by a lower-leg injury, limiting him to 14 games.
During his junior season, Bahr was the Offensive Player of the Year in District 4-6A in the Dallas area.
One of the top competitors in the Dallas area during his prep career, Bahr will look to compete for time in the backcourt this season for a BYU basketball team that is led by star Rob Wright III.
What’s interesting about Bahr is that he will be the first player in the Kevin Young era to join a roster fresh off a Latter-day Saint mission. The first two years under Young did not include freshman returned missionaries.
