Cornerback Demichael Burks commits to BYU
BYU football got into the mix for Burks shortly after his previous commitment to Fresno State in April. First-year BYU cornerbacks coach Lewis Walker offered Burks during the spring evaluation period.
Burks’ commitment to BYU comes on the heels of an official visit to Provo over the weekend.
BYU beats out Pac-12 programs Fresno State, Colorado State, and Texas State, along with Mountain West schools Nevada and San Jose State, to land Burks.
Burks had three interceptions last season for Desert Pines High School and 28 tackles. He also recorded 337 receiving yards and three touchdowns as a receiver.
BYU football is up to seven commits in the class of 2027
Burks is the sixth commitment in BYU’s 2027 recruiting class. He joins New Jersey’s Ryan Wooten as the second cornerback in the cycle to commit to BYU.
