SALT LAKE CITY – Following a successful second season that witnessed the organization’s first ever playoff berth, the Utah Mammoth have extended head coach Andre Tourigny and assistant coach Blaine Forsythe to multi-year deals while adding Adam Foote to the staff.

As the fourth longest tenured coach in the National Hockey League, Tourigny has agreed to multi-year contract in Salt Lake City after leading the Coyotes/Mammoth through the early stages of a rebuild.
In addition to a 170-195-45 regular season record since 2021, Tourigny has provided steady progress as one of only three coaches in NHL history to improve a team’s point total in each of their first five seasons as head coach.
More recently, Tourigny also delivered on Utah’s promise of a playoff berth in only year two of relocation.
“André and Blaine have both been instrumental in building the foundation for our organization and will be critical in our continued success and leadership moving forward,” said Bill Armstrong, general manager of the Utah Mammoth.
“André is an excellent leader, communicator, and person, who is extremely well respected by our players and our staff.”
As an organization that greatly values both stability and continuity, this extension should come as no surprise.
Among the six longest tenured coaches in the NHL, four (Jon Cooper, Jared Bednar, Rod Brind’Amour, & Paul Maurice) of those coaches have won Stanley Cups with their teams.

In addition to Tourigny’s extension, the Mammoth have also signed Blaine Forsythe to a multi-year deal while adding former Stanley Cup Champion and 2002 Gold Medalist Adam Foote to the coaching staff.
Despite a down year in terms of power play production, Forsythe is a favorite among the players and has produced solid special team’s numbers on a consistent basis as the power play ranked among the top half of the NHL during his tenure, including a top-10 finish during the 2024-25 campaign.
“Blaine’s an experienced, knowledgeable, and Stanley Cup-winning coach who has a strong body of work running the power play,” Armstrong said.
As for Foote, he’ll join the staff in place of Mario Duhamel who will remain under contract until he and the team discover the next best steps.
“We are also thrilled to have Adam, a two-time Stanley Cup champion and 2002 Olympic gold medalist right here in Salt Lake, join the organization and bring a fresh perspective to our room backed by years of experience as both a player and coach. This is another exciting day for the organization,” Armstrong added.
Foote will join Utah’s staff following a short head coaching stint with the Vancouver Canucks.
