Northern Utah Players of the Week – Siaki Fekitoa & Blake Weston
Fekitoa and the Bountiful Red Hawks hosted Alta High School in Region 6 action last week. Fekitoa, as he routinely done, was the workhorse back powering Bountiful’s offense as they found themselves in a first half shootout against the Hawks. Bountiful took a 28-24 halftime lead thanks to a 53-yard touchdown run from Fekitoa in late in the first half. He extended their lead in the third quarter with his second touchdown as Bountiful went on to beat Alta 42-31.
Weston and the Ogden Tigers made the trek out to the Uinta Basin for a 3A North Division showdown against Union High School. Weston was efficient as he tallied a pair of short touchdown runs early in the contest to set the tone before his connecting on his first touchdown pass of the game to give Ogden a 21-6 halftime lead. Weston added another touchdown pass in the second half, which proved to be important as the Tigers withstood the Cougars’ comeback bid, emerging with a 28-26 win. Weston completed 9-of-13 passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns while also pacing Ogden with 59 rushing yards and another pair of touchdowns.
