SALT LAKE CITY – The Wasatch Wasps secured a come-from-behind victory over the Spanish Fork Dons in week four of 5A high school football on Friday.
Trailing 14-5 heading into the fourth quarter, a touchdown catch from Cache Coombs, followed by a late field goal, gave the Wasps a one-point lead.
With the win, Wasatch improved to 3-1 on the year.

Region 4
West Jordan Jaguars 45 @ Taylorsville Warriors 6
Region four in 5A week four was filled with blowouts. The first to do so was the West Jordan Jaguars, who were matched up with the Taylorsville Warriors. West Jordan scored at least one touchdown in each quarter, with two in the first and fourth. All six of the Jaguars’ touchdowns came through the air, with three different quarterbacks getting in on the action.
Hillcrest Huskies 9 @ Granger Lancers 47
The Granger Lancers scored 34 of their 47 points in the first half of their big win over the Hillcrest Huskies in week four. Quarterback Owen Griffin and receiver Mahoni Puamau connected on four touchdowns. Uli Figiel, Bobo Kofe, and Tumua Moors were the other touchdown scorers for Granger.

Cyprus Pirates 55 @ Kearns Cougars 0
As previously mentioned, there were a lot of blowouts in Region 4, but only one shutout. The Cyprus Pirates picked up their third win of the season by dropping a 50-bomb and holding the Kearns Cougars scoreless. Five different Pirates players found the end zone, with running back Payton Naranjo scoring twice.
Hunter Wolverines 7 @ No. 8 West Panthers 66
The West Panthers dropped a whopping 66 points in their big win over the Hunter Wolverines in week four. West quarterback Kamden Lopati threw five touchdowns, each to a different receiver. Louie Hamilton caught a touchdown and rushed for one as well.
Region 5
Roy Royals 23 @ West Field Longhorns 41
The West Field Longhorns outpaced the Roy Royals on Friday, scoring at least one touchdown in each quarter of their win. The Royals also put points on the board in each quarter, but they were ultimately outgunned. West Field quarterback Easton Eilertson threw six touchdowns.
Northridge Knights 3 @ No. 21 Box Elder Bees 7
After going scoreless through the first three quarters, the Box Elder Bees broke the Northridge Knights’ hearts with a goalline touchdown late in the fourth quarter to steal the win. Bow Elder’s Kadyn Reyes was the late touchdown-scorer.
Bonneville Lakers 0 @ No. 6 Fremont Silverwolves 43
The Fremont Silverwolves scored 35 of their 43 points in the first half of their shutout victory over the Bonneville Lakers on Friday. Fremont’s Salesi Moa had a receiving touchdown and also a pick-six in the first quarter. Quarterback Manase Tuatagaloa had three passing touchdowns, two caught by Slade Parker.
Region 7
No. 12 Springville Red Devils 14 @ No. 13 Orem Tigers 17
The Orem Tigers took an early lead and held strong down the stretch to hand the Springville Red Devils their first loss of the season. A first and third-quarter passing touchdown from Orem’s Tayden Ka’awa, paired with a field goal, had the score at 17-7 going into the fourth. Springville got on the board again in the fourth but couldn’t regain the lead.
Payson Lions 13 @ Timpview Thunderbirds 59
The Timpview Thunderbirds scored an eye-popping 32 points in the second quarter of their win over the Payson Lions in week four. After going up 13-0 in the first quarter, halftime rolled around with the Thunderbirds leading 45-6. Timpwview had two defensive touchdowns and a return TD against the Lions.
Maple Mountain Golden Eagles 6 @ Pleasant Grove Vikings 15
The Pleasant Grove Vikings came out on top of a defensive-minded match against the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles on Friday. Pleasant Grove went up by eight in the second quarter with two field goals and a safety. They eventually sealed the deal with a 42-yard passing touchdown in the fourth.

No. 20 Morgan Trojans (3A) 21 @ Bountiful Redhawks 13
The Morgan Trojans continued their stretch of good play with an eight-point win over the Bountiful Redhawks on Friday. After going down 7-0 in the first quarter, the Trojans scored a touchdown in every quarter down the stretch. Morgan quarterback Owen Gilson threw for two, and Kanyon Leonelli rushed in the third.
Park City Miners (4A) 10 @ No. 24 Olympus Titans 3
The Park City Miners’ defense shined in the team’s low-scoring win over the Olympus Titans on Friday. The Miners went up 10-0 and only conceded a field goal in the final seconds of the game. Brogan Price’s third-quarter receiving touchdown ended up being the difference.
Clearfield Falcons 7 @ Ogden Tigers (3A) 24
The Ogden Tigers scored 17 unanswered points in the second half to pick up a win over the Clearfield Falcons on Friday. The first half came to a close with the score tied at 7-7. Touchdowns from Ogden’s Anderson Curry and Max Wilson allowed them to run away with the result after the break.
Snow Canyon Warriors (4A) 0 @ Woods Cross Wildcats 38
The Woods Cross Wildcats scored all of their points in the first half of their week four matchup against the Snow Canyon Warriors. Wildcats quarterback Jesse Simmons threw three touchdown passes, two to Shayden Gerratt and the third to Viliami Tapa’atoutai. Tapa’atoutai also had a score on the ground.
