SALT LAKE CITY – The Pine View Panthers ran in a late game-winning touchdown against the Hurricane Tigers in week seven of 4A high school football on Friday.
Trailing 27-24 heading into the fourth quarter, the Pine View defense turned up the heat against Hurricane. Unfortunately for the Panthers, the Tigers’ defense did the same thing.
However, on what appeared to be the final offensive series of the game, Pine View made it into the red zone and Corbin Yocham high-stepped into the end zone to put the Panthers back on top, 31-27.

Region 8
Uintah Utes 20 @ Mountain View Bruins 41
The Mountain View Bruins consistently added to their tally as they picked up a win over the Uintah Utes on Friday. Mountain Views’ Hyrum Stafford had a hat trick of touchdowns, two came on the ground and the third through the air in the third quarter. That wasn’t it, though. He also had a pick-six in the fourth to make it four total touchdowns.
Timpanogos Timberwolves 24 @ Provo Bulldogs 61
The Provo Bulldogs scored 20 points in the first quarter and 28 in the third of their win over the Timpanogos Timberwolves in week seven. Quarterback Gehrig Orchard had six touchdowns to five different receivers. Griffin DeMartini was the one Bulldog with two scores against Timpanogos.
Park City Miners 30 @ Salem Hills Skyhawks 17
The Salem Hills Skyhawks scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, but the push was too little, too late as the Park City Miners went above .500 with their win on Friday. The Miners had two TDs from 60 yards in the win, a third-quarter rush from Josh Hofer and a fourth-quarter reception from Brogan Price.

No. 15 Crimson Cliffs Mustangs 28 @ No. 24 Snow Canyon Warriors 21
The Crimson Cliffs Mustangs held off a late push from the Snow Canyon Warriors to improve to 6-1 with a win in week seven. 14 of Snow Canyon’s 21 points came in the fourth quarter. Crimson Cliffs quarterback Tanoai Andersen had three passing touchdowns, two of which went to Davis Alofipo.
Dixie Flyers 10 @ Desert Hills Thunder 14
The Desert Hills Thunder came out on top in a grinded-out game against the Dixie Flyers in week seven. Two different Thunder players threw a touchdown to two different receivers. Max Brownstein found Antene’a Tauaefa just before halftime, and Briggs Barney connected with Isaac Andresen in the third quarter.
Region 10
East Leopards 70 @ Juan Diego Soaring Eagle 27
The East Leopards kept the ball rolling from their first win last week and blew out the Juan Diego Soaring Eagle on Friday. East failed to score any points through the first four weeks, allowing the opponent to drop 50 or more points in three of those games. They saw the other end of that in week seven, hanging a season-high 70 points on Juan Diego.
Cottonwood Colts 17 @ Skyline Eagles 62
The Skyline Eagles took care of business in week seven, blowing out the winless Cottonwood Colts. The tone was set early as Skyline scored 35 points in the first quarter. Three Eagles players scored two touchdowns: Xavier Cocci, Jonah Mailei, and Maximus Cocci.
Highland Rams 28 @ Murray Spartans 12
After going scoreless through the first 20 minutes of the game, the Highland Rams put their foot on the gas and shot past the Murray Spartans in week seven. All of Highland’s scores on offense came on the ground. They had a fourth TD, a third-quarter pick-six by Eni Mafua.

Bear River Bears 0 @ Green Canyon Wolves 35
The Green Canyon Wolves held the Bear River Bears scoreless in a convincing week seven win at home. In the second quarter, quarterback Ethan Munk threw a touchdown to Cody Edelmayer and ran one in himself just before halftime. Green Canyon scored three more times in the second half, each score by Micah Jenkins.

No. 4 Ridgeline Riverhawks 60 @ No. 20 Sky View Bobcats 26
The Ridgeline Riverhawks were one of five teams in 4A week seven to score 60 or more points as they picked up a big win over the Sky View Bobcats. Ridgeline scored 14 or more points in each quarter against Sky View. Quarterback Nate Dahle finished with five total touchdowns, three through the air and two more with his legs.
Mountain Crest Mustangs 77 @ Deseret Peak Golden Eagles 0
The biggest blowout of the week is owned by the Mountain Crest Mustangs as they approached 80 points, while holding the Deseret Peak Golden Eagles scoreless. The Mustangs scored 28 points in the first quarter and 35 in the second. Quarterback Brayden Larsen had six passing touchdowns in the win.
No. 19 Stansbury Stallions 27 @ Tooele Buffaloes 19
The Stansbury Stallions scored all of their points in the first half but still managed to defeat the Tooele Buffaloes on Friday. Partly because the Buffaloes also only got on the board in the first half. Both defenses put the clamps on in the second half, and Stansbury’s preexisting lead was enough to improve to 6-1.
