Utah Jazz Team Store To Celebrate Re-Opening With Public Event

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz announced that the Jazz Team Store located at Vivint Smart Home Arena will celebrate its re-opening to the public with an event held on Saturday, May 23.
The public re-opening event will begin at 11 a.m.
In a release, the Jazz said the “event and all Jazz Team Store operations will comply with Utah and Salt Lake County guidelines governing public health and safety.”
The Jazz Team Store recently re-opened after being closed in past weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Health & Safety
Visitors and employees are required to wear face coverings or masks. Those who don’t have a face make will be provided one for free.
Social distancing signage will be on display including floor decals indicating a six-foot distance between guests for all lines, including checkout and access to the store from inside the arena’s atrium.
Hand sanitizer stations will be available for use at checkout areas, the arena entry, and store exits.
“All checkout areas are cleaned after each transaction,” the Jazz said in the release. “Clear plastic partitions have been installed between cashier and guest where it is not possible to maintain six feet of distance.”
The Jazz Team Store only accepts cash-free payment including contactless transactions.
Areas of the Jazz team store that are considered “high-touch” will be sanitized every 15 minutes, according to the Jazz.
Bags and strollers will not allowed inside the arena.

Event Festivities
The public re-opening will feature an appearance by Utah Jazz mascot. Jazz Bear will be available for social-distanced photographs from 4-6 p.m. (MDT).
Jazz merchandise will also be on sale at the event.
Free parking will be available for store guests at Park Place located on 300 West between North and South Temple in Salt Lake City.

How Do I Prevent It?
The CDC has some simple recommendations, most of which are the same for preventing other respiratory illnesses or the flu:
- Avoid close contact with people who may be sick
- Avoid touching your face
- Stay home when you are sick
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then throw the tissue in the trash
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. Always wash your hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.

If you see evidence of PRICE GOUGING, the Utah Attorney General’s Office wants you to report it. Common items in question include toilet paper, water, hand sanitizer, certain household cleaners, and even cold medicine and baby formula. Authorities are asking anyone who sees price gouging to report it to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection at 801-530-6601 or 800-721-7233.
