Big 12 football power rankings: BYU climbs entering Week 2

SALT LAKE CITY — Big 12 football had no shortage of storylines after the conclusion of the first week.

The league is 2-2 against Power Four opponents so far this season. Colorado pulled off a comeback win at Georgia Tech to give Coach Prime some much-needed momentum in his program.

Cincinnati crushed Boston College in a home game with Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark on hand to watch.

On the flip side, the good vibes in Stillwater to kick off the Eric Morris era are out the door. The Pokes lost by 14 points to in-state rival Tulsa from the American. It’s the first time since 1951 that Oklahoma State lost two straight to Tulsa.

Remember when people thought Oklahoma State could be a sleeper in the league? That seems like a distant memory.

Most of the Week 1 slate featured games against FCS opponents.

Arizona State, BYU, Kansas State, and Utah all had dominant offensive performances in their lid-lifters against lower-level competition.
