PROVO — BYU football will be without two of its top players when they take on Iowa State this Friday night.
The initial availability report was released on Tuesday, and BYU star running back LJ Martin and linebacker Isaiah Glasker were listed as “OUT.”
Both Martin and Glasker suffered injuries in BYU’s win at TCU last Saturday in Fort Worth.

Martin suffered a lower-body injury while Glasker is dealing with an undisclosed injury. Earlier this week on Coordinators’ Corner, BYU defensive coordinator Kelly Poppinga said they hope to get the 5th-year linebacker back in the next week or two.
Martin is the reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. The senior running back has rushed for 344 yards on 44 carries and three touchdowns. Martin is averaging 7.8 yards per carry this season.
Without Martin, BYU will move forward with Preston Rex and true freshmen Journee Tonga and DeVaughn Eka. Along with the running backs, BYU also has quarterback Bear Bachmeier to carry the workload on the ground.
Bachmeier had the game-clinching 21-yard
In Glasker’s absence, BYU will play Kansas State transfer, Jake Clifton. He picked up a sack in last week’s win at TCU.
