TV info, kickoff time revealed for anticipated BYU-Notre Dame showdown

PROVO — The game everyone within the BYU football community has been waiting for has a kickoff time.

BYU’s highly anticipated matchup against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will kick off at 5:30 p.m. (MT) on Saturday, October 17, and be televised on ABC and heard on KSL NewsRadio (102.7 FM, 1160 AM).

Both teams are undefeated and ranked in the top 10 of the AP Top 25 poll. BYU checks in at No. 8 with a 4-0 record, while the Irish are No. 3 in the latest rankings with a 5-0 record.

The midseason showdown between the faith-based programs will be the first of a two-game series. BYU will return to South Bend in 2027.

Notre Dame is making its first trip to Provo since 2004. That was also the last time BYU defeated the Irish.

It will be the 10th meeting all-time between the two programs. Notre Dame holds a 7-2 advantage, 5-2 in the NCAA record books, because two wins in 2012 and 2013 were vacated.

The game will be the second meeting between BYU coach Kalani Sitake and Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman. They faced off against one another in Las Vegas four years ago, with Notre Dame taking down BYU in that Shamrock Series contest, 28-20.

If the top-10 rankings hold up between both teams when they meet on October 17, it would mark the first-ever game at LaVell Edwards Stadium with two teams squaring off inside the top-10.
