WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Utah Mammoth opened a five-game road trip on a high note with a hard-earned, 3-2 win over the Washington Capitals.
The Capitals (32-24-7, 71 points) are playing host to the Mammoth (31-26-4, 66 points) at Capital One Arena on Tuesday, March 3.
Utah found its groove after a frustrating, 4-0 shutout loss against the woeful Chicago Blackhawks to begin March. The Mammoth are tied with the Edmonton Oilers for the two Western Conference Wild Card spots.
They hold a four-point lead over the San Jose Sharks, Nashville Predators, and Los Angeles Kings.
