SALT LAKE CITY – Sergei Bobrovsky reminded everyone why he is considered among the NHL’s elite net-minders, and may have surprised even himself on Wednesday night.
Bobrovsky’s otherworldly glove save denied what seemed like a sure goal for Utah Mammoth captain Clayton Keller.

Utah scored its third goal moments after the spectacular save, sending the game into a 3-3 tie entering the third period.
Leading 3-2 just over halfway through the second period, Nick Schmaltz created a takeaway that presented the Mammoth with an odd-man rush straight to the net.
Schmaltz controlled the puck deep into the offensive end, waiting until the last moment for a dump-off pass to Keller in front of the net.
Bobrovsky initially looked fooled, defending the post against Schmaltz, leaving him little time to react as the puck floated toward Keller with a wide-open window.
The two-time Vezina Trophy winner, given annually to the league’s top goaltender, teleported across the crease, unraveling every inch of his 6’2 frame to get a glove on the one-timer.
Bobrovsky drew a whistle by covering the puck after making one of the season’s best saves.
The Mammoth welcome the Seattle Kraken to Delta Center to wrap up a three-game homestand on Friday, December 12. The puck drops at 7 p.m. MT.
