SAN JOSE, California – The Utah Mammoth battled back from a two-goal deficit, but couldn’t summit the mountain top in overtime, falling 3-2 on Macklin Celebrini’s hat-trick.
The Mammoth (10-7-3, 23 points) is in the Bay Area to face the San Jose Sharks (9-8-3, 21 points) on Tuesday, November 18.
San Jose is 5-3-3 at home, while Utah is 5-6-2 on the road.
Sharks center Macklin Celebrini’s 30 points are the third most in the NHL, trailing only Colorado’s Nathan McKinnon and Edmonton’s Connor McDavid. No other Sharks skater has more than 17 points.
Nick Schmaltz leads the Mammoth with 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists), followed by 18 points from Clayton Keller and 15 points apiece for Mikhail Sergachev, Logan Cooley, and Dylan Guenther. Sergachev is the tenth-leading scoring defenseman in the league.

The Sharks’ points leader came out of the blocks firing, giving his team a 1-0 lead less than two minutes in.
Celebrini wasn’t done, adding his second goal on a breakaway wrister at 5:58.
