After enduring a few challenging seasons as he bounced between the NHL and AHL, 27-year-old forward Kailer Yamamoto has found a home in Salt Lake City.
With an AAV of $1.75 million, the veteran forward earned his new deal with his play this last season as he registered 13 goals and 10 assists in 59 games.
Notably, Yamamoto also posted the second-best shooting percentage on the team (21.7%) among players that played in at least 35 games while making a substantial impact in the playoffs with 5 points (tied for team-high) in a top six role.
“Kailer is a versatile forward that wins battles and can produce offense for us,” said Bill Armstrong, general manager of the Utah Mammoth. “Kailer is important to our team, and we are thrilled that he will return to the Mammoth.”

As Bill pointed out, Yamamoto is an important player who, despite his size, consistently wins important battles in the offensive zone.
Doesn’t matter how much bigger the opposition is, No. 56 will face anyone without hesitation in order to retrieve pucks.
Additionally, as demonstrated by his production in the playoffs, Yamamoto can also play on any line while simultaneously lifting those around him to compete at a higher level.
At just under $2 million a year, Utah has signed yet another team friendly contract to bring back an important depth piece on their roster.
Following the NHL draft, the Utah Mammoth will host their prospect development camp from June 28 to July 2.
On ice sessions will be at the Mammoth Ice Center on Monday & Tuesday at 10 a.m. Monday’s practice will be open to the public.
Prospects will then participate in a 4v4 scrimmage on Thursday at noon.
