Salt Lake County High School Basketball Players of the Week – Week 3 – Kya Newton & Isaiah Reiser

SALT LAKE CITY – The Hercules Salt Lake County High School Player of the Week is celebrating the best high school basketball players in Salt Lake County. Presented by Hercules First Federal Credit Union, each week we honor athletes for their exceptional performance on the hardwood. Our winners for week two were Kya Newton from Olympus High School and Isaiah Reiser from Copper Hills High School.
Salt Lake County Players of the Week – Kya Newton & Isaiah Reiser
Kya Newton and the Olympus Titans picked up a trio of wins last week with Newton leading the way. She tallied 22 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals in a 65-45 win over Salem Hills before notching 25 points, 10 steals, five assists, four rebounds and two blocks in a 68-49 road win at Box Elder. She wrapped up the week with 24 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and seven steals in a 74-63 rivalry win at Skyline High School.

Isaiah Resier and the Copper Hills Grizzlies went 3-1 on a busy week with Reiser offensive prowess on full display. He started the week with 27 points, eight assists, two rebounds and one steal in 70-57 victory over West Jordan, following it up with 16 points, three rebounds and two assists in a 69-59 defeat to Crimson Cliffs. He then went for 30 points in their 72-69 win over Mountain View before capping the week with 19 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 60-50 victory over Cottonwood.
