Week 3: Thursday night’s Utah high school football roundup

SALT LAKE CITY — Week 3 of the 2026 Utah high school football season arrived with six games to whet the appetite for another buffet of football Friday, followed by four games Saturday including a doubleheader of national powers against Skyridge and Orem hosted by West High School.

But before we get to all of that, let’s take a look at Thursday night.

Here’s what you may have missed.

Bear River 49, Thunder Ridge (Idaho) 35

Preston Wilkinson threw for five touchdowns, including two each to Karson Summers and Eli Braegger as the Bears survived a shootout with Idaho’s Thunder Ridge at Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho.

Wilkinson connected with Summers on a 59-yard touchdown with 35 seconds left in the second quarter, then opened the third with a 33-yard strike to Summers to go up 42-28 and pull away for the win.

Jenings Morley and Bennett Allen each added a rushing touchdown for the Bears (2-1).

Copper Hills 48, Hunter 3

Ryder Mitchell ran for two of Copper Hills’ four rushing touchdowns as the Grizzlies overwhelmed the Wolverines for a 3-0 start.

Ethan Hill threw a pair of touchdown passes for Copper Hills, which is off to its best start in four years.

Madison (Idaho) 27, Riverton 0

The Bobcats jumped out to a 20-0 halftime lead and blanked the Silverwolves.

Mountain Ridge 42, Davis 7

Jaxon Hunt connect with three difference receivers for touchdowns, and Bradley Foster ran for two more as the Sentinels overwhelmed the Darts to improve to 3-0.

Oklahoma commit Bode Sparrow hauled in a 40-yard touchdown pass from Brodie Scheinberg to prevent the shutout for Davis (1-2).

Weber 53, Roy 35

Creed DeVries pulled down three of Carter Payne’s five touchdown passes as the Warriors held off the Royals in a shootout.

Draycen Munoz also had two touchdown receptions for Weber (2-1), which scored 27 first-quarter points to jump out to a 33-14 halftime lead.

Gunner Pearson threw a pair of touchdown passes for Roy (1-2), which scored three-straight touchdowns in the fourth quarter highlighted by Ace Reading’s 1-yard fumble recovery for the final margin.

Whitehorse 56, Utah Military Hillfield 12

The Raiders (2-1) overwhelmed the Thunderbirds (0-2) in a 1A eight-player football game.
