Week 4: Thursday night’s Utah high school football roundup

SALT LAKE CITY — Week 4 of the 2026 Utah high school football season kicked off another weekend of football that also sees the return of the college game through Labor Day.
But first, there was a first-time victor and a 3A power flexing its muscle against a 5A foe.
Here’s what you may have missed.
Provo 34, Salem Hills 28
At Salem Hills, Brexton Hunter scored three touchdowns and Kellen Jarvis rallied the Bulldogs to their first win over the season in overtime against the Skyhawks.
Hunter scored on a 95-yard kick return before scoring a pair of first-half touchdowns for Provo (1-3), but BYU commit Peyton Higginson scored his second touchdown for Salem Hills with 2:49 left in the half of a 21-21 stalemate at the break.
Reggie Smith opened the fourth quarter with a 1-yard TD dive to give Salem Hills (2-2) a 28-21 advantage. But Jarvis found the end zone with 12 seconds remaining to force overtime, and set up Amilale Albert’s 10-yard TD plunge for the Bulldogs’ first win under head coach Viliami Halasima.
The rushing attack for the Murray Spartans was alive and well on Thursday night against Jordan!
The Spartans used 4 rushing touchdowns to run past the Beetdiggers getting scores from Dru Reuss, Cruz Gardner (x2), and Mckade Eardley.

Morgan 37, Bountiful 14
At Morgan, Owen Gilson connected twice with Owen Belliston for touchdowns to guide the Trojans past the Redhawks on Thursday night.
The trio of Miles Sydenham, George Thurston and Rhett Larsen added a rushing touchdown each to power Morgan (3-1) to a third-straight win.
Easton Lowe caught two touchdown passes to lead Bountiful (2-2).

Murray 40, Jordan 17
At Murray, Cruz Gardner ran for two of the Spartans’ five touchdown runs including one during a 20-0 fourth-quarter blitz to pull away from the Beetdiggers.
Dru Reuss, Mckade Eardley and Ropati Atuaia also scored for the Murray (3-1), which got a pair of field goals from Anthony Guerra.
Sterling Ostler threw for a touchdown and ran for another to lead Jordan (1-3).
