Salt Lake County High School Player of the Week – Week 2 – K’Von Houston

The Hercules Salt Lake County High School Player of the Week is celebrating the best high school football player in Salt Lake County. Presented by Hercules First Federal Credit Union, each week we honor athletes for their exceptional performance on the gridiron. Our winner this week was Hillcrest High School quarterback K’Von Houston.

Salt Lake County Player of the Week – K’Von Houston, Hillcrest

The Hillcrest Huskies welcomed in the Deer Creek Riverhawks in a week two non-region match up. After dropping the opening game of the season, Hillcrest bounced back behind a 411 yard 5 touchdown performance from K’Von Houston. The senior quarterback also added 67 yards rushing and 2 rushing touchdowns. K’Von’s connection with senior wide receiver Alani Latu on full display all evening long with Latu accounting for 10 receptions 244 yards and 4 touchdowns!

K’Von Houston scored three touchdowns in the first quarter for the Huskies, rushing in the opening score of the game and connecting with Alani for the following two scores. Hillcrest carried a 29-7 lead into the halftime break after K’Von rushed for another score in the second quarter. It was all Hillcrest in the second half as Houston connected with Latu again for an 18-yard score with 9:27 remaining in the third.Every week, KSL Sports will name a Salt Lake County high school player of the week in partnership with Hercules First Federal Credit Union.
