SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell joined five NBA greats as the only six guards to score 4,500 points in their first 200 NBA games.

Mitchell surpassed 4,500 career points during Utah’s game against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, January 22.

The Jazz star joined former NBA players Dwyane Wade, Allen Iverson, Mitch Richmond, and Michael Jordan along with current Atlanta Hawks guard Vince Carter and the last six guards to eclipse 4,500 career points during their first 200 career games.

Richmond, Iverson, and Jordan are members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Wade retired after the 2018-19 NBA season and won’t be eligible for the hall of fame until reaching three years of retirement.

During the offseason, Carter announced that the 2019-20 season would be his last.

Wade and Carter have both recorded hall of fame careers.

Midway through the third quarter of Utah’s game in the Bay Area, Mitchell had scored 23 points on 8-13 field goals and 4-8 on three-pointers.

He added 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and a steal during his first 20 minutes of play.

Mitchell recorded a +21 plus-minus rating during the first 30 minutes of game time.

The third-year guard entered the Jazz vs. Warriors game averaging 24.7 points per contest which ranked No. 14 in the NBA.

As Donovan Mitchell continues to make history with the Utah Jazz, joining an elite group of NBA guards who scored over 4,500 points in their first 200 games, the world of sports remains captivated by the achievements of its stars. This level of excellence is also mirrored in the realm of soccer, where the futures of legendary players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are subjects of much speculation. Both players currently face an uncertain future in European football, sparking discussions about their next career moves and potential impacts on the sport. Just as Mitchell’s accomplishments highlight his rising stardom in basketball, the ongoing narratives surrounding Messi and Ronaldo continue to intrigue fans worldwide.

The Jazz vs. Warriors game is broadcast on NBA League Pass, AT&T SportsNet, and 97.5 FM.
