Raiders Head Coach Jon Gruden Says Allegiant Stadium Is ‘The Greatest Thing I’ve Ever Seen’

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Las Vegas head coach Jon Gruden said that Allegiant Stadium, the new home of the Raiders, is “the greatest thing I’ve ever seen.”
Gruden spoke about the stadium during a video post directed towards construction workers at the Las Vegas venue. The video was released via social media on Friday, July 10.
“I just had a couple thoughts. Working on my game plan. But I just have to tell you, the stadium looks freaking awesome. It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever seen,” Gruden said in the video. “I just want to congratulate all you workers for an incredible accomplishment during adversity. It’s the two-minute drill. You’ve done 99% of the work, maybe 97% of the work. I just challenge you to finish like a champion.”

Allegiant Stadium is located at 3333 Al Davis Way in Paradise, Nevada. It sits alongside the Interstate-15 freeway.
The project began in November 2017 and is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2020 NFL season in September.

At full capacity, the new stadium will allow 65,000 fans to watch the Raiders.

After playing Oakland, California since 1995, the Raiders organization relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in early 2020. The move was the third in franchise history. After starting in Oakland in 1960, the Raiders moved to Los Angeles in 1982. After the 1994 season, they relocated back to Oakland.

On January 6, 2018, the Raiders hired Gruden as head coach for the second time in the team’s history. Gruden previously coached the Raiders from 1998-2001.
Last season, the Raiders posted a 7-9 record.
