PROVO, Utah – BYU football ended its long nine-game, 12-year losing streak against rival Utah on Saturday night with a 26-17 victory. The win put the 2021 edition of the BYU football program at 2-0 on the year and was another validation that last year’s success wasn’t a flash in the pan.

Congratulations to BYU for the victory! Utah is legit, with one of the better combos of OL and defensive front 7 in the nation, and a QB in Charlie Brewer who has played well in a lot of big games. This matchup reveals a lot about these Cougars. Rise and Shout!

Scene in Provo is epic!! That @BYUfootball and @Utah_Football rivalry is one of the best in CFB.
Kalani Sitake is a really good coach and finally gets a win over his former boss

BYU ends a nine-game losing streak to Utah. Pretty good week for CougarKind. Kalani Sitake pretty damn happy to finally beat the Utes.
— Pat Forde (@ByPatForde) September 12, 2021
Disappointing loss for Utah but I think that’s understating the absolutely incredible job of recruiting, developing, and coaching done at BYU by Kalani Sitake. Lost tons of NFL talent and came back incredibly strong. Utah coaching/ decisions/ & game plan didn’t help at all.

— Adam Rittenberg (@ESPNRittenberg) September 12, 2021
Jaren Hall has been incredibly impressive the past two weeks. Love his game and poise.
BYU Offensive staff deserves a ton of love. Putting on an absolute clinic tonight.
— Jake Heaps (@jtheaps9) September 12, 2021
#BYU‘s offense looking pretty good in the post-Zach Wilson era. Jaren Hall is really fun to watch in @CoachRoderick‘s scheme.
Cougars have been balanced (147 rush yards, 139 pass yards) and brilliant on third down (9 of 15) against a veteran Utah defense. Very impressive.
— Adam Rittenberg (@ESPNRittenberg) September 12, 2021
BYU QB Jaren Hall is putting on a show, folks.
