Report: USC QB Jaxson Dart Underwent Surgery After Suffering Meniscus Injury

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Corner Canyon High School and current USC Trojans quarterback Jaxson Dart underwent surgery for a meniscus injury that he suffered during his first college football game, according to USCFootball.com.

Dart played his first snaps with the Trojans on Saturday, September 18. The true freshman quarterback replaced an injured Kedon Slovis and led USC to a 45-14 win over Washington State.
USCFootball.com’s Keely Eure reported the news of Dart’s injury on Thursday, September 23.
“True freshman quarterback Jaxson Dart tore his meniscus during his USC debut against Washington State Saturday, sources have told USCFootball.com,” Eure wrote. “Dart underwent minor surgery this week and is expected to be out for an extended period of time.”

Dart finished the game 30/46 passing for 391 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions.
“We’re just making sure we protect Jaxson from Jaxson,” USC interim head coach Donte Williams said on Monday, September 20. “So right now, we have Kedon and Miller [Moss] that practiced yesterday, and I’m happy to talk about those guys. And we’ll see the quarterback situation Saturday in the game.”
USC’s next game is against the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday, September 25 at 8:30 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on FS1.
