Jets QB Zach Wilson Ruled Out After Suffering Knee Injury Against Patriots

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU and current Jets quarterback Zach Wilson exited the game after suffering a hit and was ruled out with a knee injury in New York’s game against New England Patriots.

The Patriots hosted the Jets on Sunday, October 24.
With 12:38 remaining in the first half, Wilson unleashed a deep ball before getting hit by Patriots defender Matthew Judon.
Wilson’s pass fell incomplete in the end zone and the rookie quarterback remained on the ground after the hit.

After laying on the ground for a couple of minutes, the former BYU star was able to walk to the sidelines under his own power.
The Jets examined Wilson in a medical tent on the sideline for a few minutes before the quarterback emerged and walked to the locker room with team personnel.
When he exited the field, Wilson was 6/10 passing for 51 yards. He was sacked once and the Jets trailed 17-0.

Wilson was replaced by Mike White, who had never appeared in an NFL regular season game before.
Three plays after entering the game, White threw a touchdown pass to make it 17-7 Patriots.
Shortly after entering the locker room, the Jets announced that Wilson was questionable to return with a knee injury.
At the start of the second half, the Jets announced that Wilson would not return against the Patriots.

The Jets ended up falling to the Patriots, 54-13.
With the loss, New York fell to a 1-5 record this season.
After the game, Jets head coach Robert Saleh said the team felt good about the initial analysis of Wilson’s injury and would await the results of an MRI.
