LOGAN, Utah – Saint Joseph’s standout wing Taylor Funk announced that he will conclude his college basketball career with the Utah State Aggies.

Taylor Funk announced he would enter the transfer portal on March 15 and posted his new destination being Utah State on Thursday afternoon. Funk spent the last five seasons with Saint Joseph’s.

He is a 6’8 forward from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Funk started in all 28 games that he played in and finished second in scoring at 13.2 points per game. He knocked down 76 threes in 204 attempts, shooting 37%.

Funk had a great season with Saint Joseph’s in 2020-21, averaging 17.4 points per game, while starting in 20 games and knocking down 52 three-pointers.

Coming out of high school, Funk was a three-star recruit and the No. 13 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania. The Hawks finished the 2021-22 season with an 11-19 overall record and 5-13 in A10 play. Utah State went 18-16 overall and 8-10 in Mountain West play last season.

The Aggies lost some key players so far this off-season, including All-Mountain West performer Justin Bean and sharpshooter Brock Miller. Bean declared for the NBA Draft and Miller medically retired.

It was a solid season for Utah State in their first season under Ryan Odom as head coach of the program.
