SALT LAKE CITY – The countdown for Hans & Scotty’s 60 in 60 is on. Coming in at #57 is Utah State’s Daniel Grzesiak (DE).

Throughout the summer Hans & Scotty are counting down the top 60 college football players in the state of Utah as voted on by the media (and a fan ballot).

“Daniel Grzesiak is a Nevada transfer defensive end,” Utah State head coach Blake Anderson said of his defensive end. “Brought him in as a pass rush specialist, possibly had the best spring out of anybody up front. He loves to chase the quarterback, loves to run sideline-to-sideline, down-to-down can get off the edge and I expect him to have huge numbers for us this fall.”

Utah State’s Daniel Grzesiak

Grzesiak is a junior defensive end from Los Angeles, California.

He spent four seasons at the University of Nevada from 2018-21 and played 34 career games, recording 42 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 9.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, a fumble recovery, one pass breakup and a blocked kick.

Grzesiak played 12 games for Nevada in 2021, finishing with 19 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 6.5 tackles for loss.

In high school, Grzesiak was a standout at Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, California, where he earned first-team all-Open Division and was named the Defensive Lineman of the Year for the Coliseum League. He helped Crenshaw win a league and state championship as a senior in 2017.

Grzesiak graduated from Nevada in the fall of 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in public health and is working on his master’s degree in sports management.

He is the second Utah State player to appear on the 60 in 60 list in 2022.
