SALT LAKE CITY – The countdown for Hans & Scotty’s 60 in 60 is on. Coming in at #40 is Utah State‘s Justin McGriff (WR).

Throughout the summer Hans & Scotty are counting down the top 60 college football players in the state of Utah as voted on by the media (and a fan ballot).

“Justin McGriff had a phenomenal spring ball, started playing big, a 6’6 frame and there is a confidence that really comes from him that would allow him to have a phenomenal senior season and absolutely be a draftable wideout with that frame,” Utah State head coach Blake Anderson said of his wide receiver. “For us, daily consistently this fall he can be a huge weapon for us going into the season.”

Utah State’s Justin McGriff

McGriff is a senior from Tampa, Florida.

Prior to his time in college, McGriff was a standout player at Jefferson High School, where he helped the school reach the 5A state playoffs in back-to-back seasons. Coming out of high school, McGriff was rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com.

After high school, the wide receiver spent his freshman season as a redshirt at Nebraska. Following his teams with the Cornhuskers, McGriff transferred to ASA College in Miami, Florida. McGriff played seven contests for the Silver Storm and had 25 receptions for 360 yards and eight touchdowns.

McGriff transferred to Utah State ahead of the 2020 season. He played in all six of USU’s games that season and recorded 15 catches for 85 yards and two touchdowns.

Last season, McGriff helped USU to an 11-3 record, a Mountain West Conference title, and an LA Bowl win over Oregon State. He finished the year with 35 receptions for 414 yards and six touchdowns.

McGriff and the Aggies open their 2022 schedule at home against the UConn Huskies on Saturday, August 27. A week after hosting the Huskies, Utah State will travel to Alabama to play the Crimson Tide of the SEC. Alabama and Utah State will play on September 3.
