SALT LAKE CITY – Utah State tight end Broc Lane enters his graduate senior season looking to make a statement in the Aggies’ final Mountain West season.

After missing the last five games of 2024, the former Arizona product has the athleticism and skill set to be a key offensive cog during his sixth year in Logan.

“Brock Lane is established and proven,” first-year USU head coach Bronco Mendenhall said. “He’s a dynamic playmaker at tight end. I like him flexed. I like him in space… A really good athlete and lots of experience. Really excited about him.”

He was 49th on the 2024 60 in 60 list.

Lane has played in 33 games, making 16 starts with the Aggies. He has 444 yards on 48 catches, with four touchdowns.

About Utah State’s Broc Lane

Lane is a tight end out of Chandler, Arizona.

He was considered a three-star prospect by 247Sports.com and the 54th-best recruit in the state of Arizona following a two-way career with Perry High School in Gilbert, AZ. He was named to the Arizona Class 6A Premier first-team all-region as a senior.

Lane caught 23 passes for 265 yards and five scores as a senior in 2019. He added 42 tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles on defense.

Lane played in all six games of the Covid-shortened 2020 season, making two catches and adding two special teams tackles. He redshirted in 2021 with an injury.

Lane played in nine games in 2022, finishing with six receptions for 39 yards and a TD.

Healthy in 2023, Lane had a breakout season for Utah State. Starting in 10 of the 11 games he played, he posted 21 receptions for 208 yards and a touchdown. The performance earned honorable mention all-Mountain West honors.

He got off to a fast start as a redshirt junior in 2024. Lane started six of the first seven games, making 19 grabs for 197 yards and two TDs. An injury forced him to miss the final five games of the season.

Lane was named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which annually recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance, and exemplary leadership in 2024. He is a four-time Academic All-Mountain West selection and two-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete (2020, 2022).
