NBA Eastern Conference Week Six Power Rankings: Toronto Stays On Top After Dominating Week

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Toronto Raptors continue to dominate the Eastern Conference while holding the best record in the NBA.

Detroit’s near perfect week has them up two spots into the top five in the Power Rankings. 

Rankings are based on results from Wednesday, November 21 to Tuesday, November 27.

1. Toronto Raptors (18-4)

Week six record: 4-0

Wins: at Atlanta, vs. Washington, vs. Miami, at Memphis

Toronto is rolling right now as they finished the week with a 4-0 record and have won six straight games. They have dominated all four wins by winning by eight points or more in all four games and 52 combined points.

2. Milwaukee Bucks (14-6)

Week six record: 2-2

Wins: vs. Portland, vs. San Antonio

Losses: vs. Phoenix, at Charlotte

They started the week with a dominating 43-point win over the Trail Blazers but lost by two to a struggling Suns team at home. Then split their last two games of week six. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored over 30 points in three of the four games while pulling down at least 10 rebounds in all four contests.

3. Philadelphia 76ers (14-8)

Week six record: 2-1

Wins: vs. New Orleans, at Brooklyn

Losses: vs. Cleveland

The Sixers are 5-2 since acquiring Jimmy Butler. Joel Embiid has been a monster for Philly as he had 31 points and 19 rebounds against New Orleans, he added 24 points and 12 rebounds in the loss to Cleveland. Jimmy Butler ended the week with a 34 point performance against Brooklyn.

4. Detroit Pistons (11-7)

Week six record: 3-1

Wins: vs. Houston, vs. Phoenix, vs. New York

Losses: at Houston

Just a two-point loss in Houston prevented the Piston from a perfect record in week six. They got their revenge with a win at home against Houston two days later. Blake Griffin scored 28 points or more in three of the four games.

5. Indiana Pacers (13-8)

Week six record: 2-2

Wins: at Utah, at Phoenix

Losses: at Charlotte, vs. San Antonio

Bojan Bogdanovic continues to fill the void of the Victor Oladipo as the Pacers dominated the Jazz in Salt Lake City and had a five point win over the Suns. They lost by 18 in Charlotte and 11 at home to the Spurs.

6. Boston Celtics (11-10)

Week six record: 2-2

Wins: at Atlanta, at New Orleans

Losses: vs. New York, at Dallas

The loss to the Knicks was disappointing for the Celtics despite a 22-point, 13 assist outing from Kyrie Irving. Boston has won just four of their last ten games.

7. Charlotte Hornets (10-10)

Week six record: 2-2

Wins: vs. Indiana, vs. Milwaukee

Losses: at Oklahoma City, at Atlanta

Jeremy Lamb led the team with 21 points in the 18 point victory over Indiana before the Hornets lost to straight by just six combined points. They finished the week with a really good win over Milwaukee by three points.

8. Orlando Magic (10-11)

Week six record: 1-2

Wins: at LA Lakers

Losses: at Denver, at Golden State

The Magic had a good week even though the record doesn’t show it. They beat a good Lakers team by four points with a 31-point and 15 rebound performance from Nikola Vucevic. They started the week with a hiccup in a 25-point loss in Denver but they ended the week with just a six point loss in Oakland to the Warriors. Vucevic had 30 points and 12 rebounds.

9. Washington Wizards (8-12)

Week six record: 2-1

Wins: vs. New Orleans, vs. Houston

Losses: at Toronto

The Wizards bounced back from an 18 point loss to the Raptors to rattle off back-to-back wins, including a four point overtime win against Houston. John Wall had 36 points and 11 assists in that game.

10. Brooklyn Nets (8-13)

Week six record: 0-3

Losses: at Dallas, vs. Minnesota, vs. Philadelphia

The Nets lost by 18 combined points in their three losses. D’Angelo Russell scored 38 points and 8 assists in their close two-point loss to the Sixers. Allen Crabbe dropped 27 points in the narrow six-point defeat to Dallas.

11. Miami Heat (7-13)

Week six record: 1-2

Wins: at Chicago

Losses: at Toronto, vs. Atlanta

Josh Richardson scored 27 points in the seven point win over the Bulls to snap a three-game skid before Dwyane Wade dropped 35 points in a ten point loss in Toronto. Things are not looking great in Miami right now.

12. New York Knicks (7-15)

Week six record: 3-1

Wins: at Boston, vs. New Orleans, at Memphis

Losses: at Detroit

The Knicks won three straight with good wins over the Celtics and Grizzlies on the road. Trey Burke led the team with 29 points and 11 assists in Boston, Emmanuel Mudiay had 27 versus New Orleans and Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 22 points in the Memphis win. They were seven points away from a perfect record in week six.

13. Atlanta Hawks (5-16)

Week six record: 2-2

Wins: vs. Charlotte, at Miami

Losses: vs. Toronto, vs. Boston

The Hawks snapped their ten game losing streak with a one point win over the Hornets and then won their second straight in their two point victory over Miami. John Collins had 23 points and 11 rebounds in the win over Charlotte.

14. Chicago Bulls (5-16)

Week six record: 1-4

Wins: vs. Phoenix

Losses: vs. Miami, at Minnesota, vs. San Antonio

Zach LaVine scored 29 points to snap the Bulls four game losing streak but lost the next three to round out week six. They lost by 23 combined points including just a one point loss to San Antonio. LaVine was the leading scorer in three of the four games as he scored 28 points in each of the other two games.

15. Cleveland Cavaliers (4-15)

Week six record: 2-2

Wins: at Philadelphia, vs. Houston

Losses: vs. LA Lakers, vs. Minnesota

Two good wins especially at Philadelphia. Former Jazz man Rodney Hood led the way with 25 points in that game. Collin Sexton had 29 points in the Houston win. They lost by 11 combined points to the Lakers and Timberwolves.
