Wishnowsky Puts Up Fastest 40 Time By A Punter Since 2003

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Former Utah punter Mitch Wishnowsky had a surprising performance at the 2019 NFL Combine.
The former Ray Guy Award winner and three-time first-team All-Pac-12 selection ran the fastest 40-yard dash by a punter since 2003 with an unofficial time of 4.63 seconds.
According to NFL Research, Wishnowsky’s time is faster than skill position Pro Bowlers such as cornerback Josh Norman, running back Mark Ingram and wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

Perhaps due to his surprising agility, Wishnowsky was able to convert first downs on two fake punts in his Utah career, something that could be an asset for future NFL teams.
In his three seasons at Utah, Wishnowsky held an average of 45.7 yards per punt, one of the top figures in the country.
He was honored as the Ray Guy Award winner as the nation’s top punter in 2016.
NFL.com’s draft prospect rating puts Wishnowsky at 5.25 out of 10, saying he has potential to be an asset to a team’s special teams unit.
