Utes Asking Fans To Don Gold To Raise Awareness For Childhood Cancer

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Although Utah’s colors are crimson red and white, the Utes will be adding another color to their scheme for one day at least.
The Utes are asking fans to incorporate gold in their attire for the annual Red and White scrimmage to help promote awareness for pediatric cancer. T-shirts and bracelets will be passed out at the gates to Rice-Eccles Stadium prior to the game.
The effort is in support of the Hayes Tough Foundation founded by former Utah defensive back Steve Tate. The foundation was founded by Tate when his son, Hayes, was diagnosed with a brain tumor when he was just a few months old. Hayes passed away on Dec. 3, 2016, but through the Hayes Tough Foundation, which raises funds to fight against childhood cancer, his legacy lives on.

The Red and White game is scheduled for April 13 at 11 a.m. at Rice-Eccles Stadium.
