Projected Win Totals For BYU, Utah, Utah State In 2019

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – One of the moments in the off-season when you know college football is near is when we see projected win totals.
FanDuel released their 2019 win totals for the upcoming college football season; we have win total projections for the local schools from the site.
Utah: 9
Surprised to not see Utah projected at 10-wins. It’s Rose Bowl or bust for the Utes in 2019. Games against USC, Washington State, and Arizona State might be their toughest conference matchups in a far favorable slate.
The Utes are tied for the 11th highest number of wins projected by FanDuel and they have the second highest win total projected in the Pac-12. Washington has a win total projection of 9.5.
Utah State: 7
The Aggies have a lot of new faces in 2019. 50 newcomers are on the roster for year one of Gary Andersen’s return to the Cache Valley.
Last season, the Aggies had the 124th toughest strength of schedule out of 130 teams. The 2019 schedule on paper doesn’t appear to be as friendly. Trips to Wake Forest, LSU, San Diego State, and Air Force along with home games against Boise State and BYU could make it difficult to exceed the projected seven wins.
BYU: 6
BYU’s schedule is filled with toss-up games. With so many games on the schedule that could go either way, six games seem fair for BYU heading into 2019. BYU has only won 11 games the past two seasons. Are they ready to take a big step forward this fall?
Trips to Tennessee, Toledo, and South Florida will be tricky and then the Pac-12 gauntlet against rival Utah, USC, and Washington pose many challenges. But all of those games against Pac-12 squads are in Provo.
