RSL Permanently Signs Everton Luiz

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake has permanently bought the services of defensive midfielder Everton Luiz, according to Italian club S.P.A.L., where Luiz played last season. Luiz joined RSL on loan from the Italian side at the beginning of the 2019 season.
The terms of the deal were not released.

The native Brazilian was placed in the starting XI in Real Salt Lake’s first game this season, and started in each of the team’s first seven games. Luiz missed four games during April and May with an injury, although he has played the full 90 minutes in his last two appearances, against the New York Red Bulls and Chicago Fire, respectively. He’s expected to be available for the club’s next match, Saturday against Sporting Kansas City.
