Tigres Draw First Blood After Deflected Strike Finds The Back Of The Net

SANDY, Utah – Tigres forward Eduardo Vargas found the back of the net in the 57th minute after a shot from thirty yards beat RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando.
After a scoreless first half in which RSL had the better scoring chances, luck did not go the home teams way shortly after the commencement of the second half. Eduardo Vargas took a long distance strike, only for it to deflect off RSL center back Justen Glad and dip into the bottom right hand corner of the net. Nothing a diving Nick Rimando could do about it.
A few minutes prior to the goal, Damir Kreilach scored although a Corey Baird deflection prohibited the hosts from taking the lead.
At half time, Tigres had dominated shots on goal, leading RSL seven to two. Although it was RSL that had the better chances throughout the first forty five minutes of action.
