10th Ranked Cougars Shutout Utes For 5th Consecutive Rivalry Win

PROVO, Utah – The 10th ranked BYU Cougars Women’s Soccer team defeated the Utah Utes 2-0 on Friday night for their fifth consecutive rivalry victory.
The Cougars shutout the Utes on goals from Elise Flake and Cameron Tucker.
“Our defense was also solid and I’m really proud of the shutout,” said BYU head coach Jennifer Rockwood.

“We’re dangerous at attacking,” Rockwood continued, “We had some good opportunities and set the tone nice and early.”
The Cougars first goal of the night by Flake came in the 20th minutes of play. It was her fourth goal of the season.
BYU extended their lead in the second half with a goal by Cameron Tucker in the 64th minute. It was Tucker’s first goal of the 2019 season.

The Utes were outshot 18-11 in the loss and fell to a record of 2-3 on the year.
BYU stayed undefeated and moved to 4-0 on the season with the win.
The Cougars will host 12th ranked Texas A&M on Thursday, September 12 at 7 p.m.
