SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Former Brighton High School star and current Stanford wide receiver Simi Fehoko was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week.

Fehoko receives the honor for the first time in his career after a breakout performance in Stanford’s upset win over Washington on Saturday.

The redshirt freshman recorded 3 catches for 91 yards and his first career receiving touchdown.

Fehoko has a catch in two other games with a 21 yard reception against Northwestern and 16 yards against Oregon State. Last season, Fehoko had one catch for six yards and played in four games before using his redshirt.

Coming out of Brighton High School, he was a four-star prospect in 2016 and was the eighth best wide receiver and the second highest rated player in the state of Utah. He had offers from Clemson, Colorado, Michigan, Nebraska, Utah and Washington before picking Stanford. Fehoko was named the 2015 Gatorade Utah Player of the Year, Max Preps Utah Player of the Year, USA Today first team and Utah MVP and Utah’s Mr. Football.

He has a long line of family that has played in college and in the NFL. His cousin Alfred Pupunu played for the San Diego Chargers, cousins Breiden, V.J. and Sam Fehoko played at Texas Tech. V.J. had a stint with the Utes. Two other cousins have played at Washington State and San Diego State.
