Utah’s Huntley Honored As Walter Camp Player Of Year Semifinalist

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley was named a semifinalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year award.
Huntley was honored as a Walter Camp semifinalist on Thursday, November 21.
The Utah QB was one of 20 players honored as semifinalists for the player of the year award.

Through 10 games in 2019, Huntley has completed 74.2 percent of his passes for 2397 yards and 13 touchdowns. He’s added 221 yards and 5 touchdowns running the football.
Huntley ranks fifth in the country in passing efficiency with a rating of 190.10.
He is tied with Ohio State QB Justin Fields for the least number of interceptions thrown in 2019 with one.
In addition to Huntley, Joe Burrow (LSU), Ja’Marr Chase (LSU), AJ Dillon (Boston College), JK Dobbins (Ohio State), Travis Etienne (Clemson), Justin Fields (Ohio State), Justin Herbert (Oregon), Chuba Hubbard (Oklahoma State), Jalen Hurts (Oklahoma), Cee Dee Lamb (Oklahoma), Trevor Lawrence (Clemson), Micah Parsons (Penn State), Kyle Pitts (Florida), Isaiah Simmons (Clemson), Devonta Smith (Alabama), D’Andre Swift (Georgia), Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin), Antoine Winfield (Minnesota), and Chase Young (Ohio State) were named semifinalists for the award.

The Walter Camp award is the fourth oldest award in college football. It is given annually to the top player in college football.
Nominees for the award are voted on by Football Bowl Subdivision or FBS head coaches and sports information directors.
Finalists for the Walter Camp Award will be named on Thursday, December 5.
The award winner will be announced on Thursday, December 12. The announcement will be televised on ESPN.
