SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Utes tight end Brant Kuithe scored two touchdowns on two straight possessions to give the Utes the lead and momentum in the first half against Colorado.

It was a huge confidence boost for the Utes after a disappointing first quarter of play where they were trailing the Colorado Buffaloes 7-0.

The run started when quarterback Tyler Huntley threw a beautiful wide open pass down the field to  Kuithe for a touchdown.

Huntley was scrambling out of the pocket after avoiding two sack attempts by the Buffs, when he pointed down the field for Kuithe to go to the end zone. Huntley threw the ball on the run to the tight end, who was wide open.

The Utes stopped Colorado on the next possession and on 3rd and one, Utah used the jet sweep to Kuithe, who picked up 44 yards on the ground.

On the next play, Huntley found Kuithe in the end zone for a seven yard touchdown to put the Utes up 14-7.

Before halftime, kicker Jadon Redding nailed a 23-yard field goal to put Utah up 17-7.

Entering the game against Colorado, Kuithe led the receivers with 4 touchdowns. He had two rushing touchdowns last week in their win over Arizona.
