Best NFL Combine Performances From Utah Football Players

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The University of Utah football program had a school record 9 players from the 2019 season that received an invitation to the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine.

Through the years, Utah has had 109 former players participate in the Combine and many have had great results.

The last time that the Utes haven’t had a player invited to the Combine was in 2008, the season before they won the Sugar Bowl over Alabama.

Here are the best results and performances from former Utah football players at the NFL Combine:

Best Overall Performances

The best overall performance from a former Ute in the combine across all six drills is cornerback Eric Rowe in 2015. The former Ute ranks third all-time with the fastest 40-yard dash at 4.45, the second highest vertical jump at 39 inches and the 4th longest broad jump at 125 inches. Rowe also has the second fastest three-cone drill with a 6.70 time and the second fastest 20-yard shuttle result with 3.97.

The second best performance is from safety Marcus Williams. The New Orleans Saints defensive back ranks first with the highest vertical jump at 43.5 inches and the longest broad jump at 129 inches.

Other notable performances in the NFL Combine include wide receiver Steve Smith who has the third fastest 40-yard dash at 4.41 and the third highest vertical jump at 38.5 inches in 2001. In 2014, defensive back Keith McGill had a great Combine outing. He ranks second all-time in Utah football history at the NFL Combine with a 39-inch vertical jump and is tied for first with the longest broad jump at 129 inches.

In 2017, running back Joe Williams ran a 4.41 40-yard dash which is tied for third in school history. He also ranks fourth with a 125-inch broad jump. Linebacker Koa Misi competed in the Combine in 2010. His results in the vertical jump ranks fourth at 38 inches and his 127-inch broad jump is good for third in school history.
