Where Local NFL Prospects Stand In Mock Drafts After Scouting Combine

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The state of Utah was well represented in the 2020 NFL Scouting Combine with 12 players participating.

Now that the Scouting Combine is over, new mock drafts from various outlets have been released.

Some players improved their stock with some dropping in the recent mock drafts.

KSL Sports looked at 22 different mock drafts. Of those 22, 8 were just the first round. We looked at 6 mock drafts that were three rounds and three had either six or seven rounds.

Here is where the local NFL Draft prospects are projected since the Combine has concluded.

Jordan Love, Utah State

It’s nearly a consensus that Jordan Love will be taken in the first round of the NFL Draft. Love went from being the fourth or fifth quarterback taken to potentially leaping over Oregon QB Justin Herbert as the third quarterback selected in the draft.

Of the 22 mock drafts that we looked at, Love was taken in the first round in 18 mock drafts. He was a top 10 pick in five mock drafts and was top 20 in 13 mocks.

Jaylon Johnson, Utah

Johnson showed up in the first round of one mock draft in the 14 mocks that we found. Of those 14, 9 had Johnson projected to get selected in the second round and four mocks had him sliding down to the third round.

The former Ute was a favorite to go to the Texans, Colts and Cardinals.

Bradlee Anae, Utah

Anae definitely didn’t hurt his draft stock after the combine. He showed up on 11 mock drafts. Of those 11, 4 mock drafts pegged Anae to go in the second round while 7 had him projected to go in the third round.

The Steelers, Titans, Rams, Raiders and Texans were some potential destinations for Anae.

Zack Moss, Utah

Despite suffering a hamstring injury during the combine, Zack Moss will likely be a day 2 or early day 3 draft selection.

Moss showed up on 8 mock drafts that we looked at and two have him going in the second round, 5 in the third round and one in the fourth round.

Leki Fotu, Utah

Former Utah defensive tackle Leki Fotu is appearing in six mock drafts that we observed. Of those mocks, one had Fotu going in the second round with the other five projecting him to be taken in the fourth round.

The Buccaneers, Giants, Ravens, Panthers and Jaguars are the teams that Fotu was linked to.

Terrell Burgess, Utah

Burgess helped his draft stock with an outstanding performance at the combine. Before he went to Indianapolis, some mocks didn’t have Burgess listed but now he is in six mock drafts. Of those six, three of them had him going in the third round with one mock each predicting Burgess to go in the first, fourth and fifth.

The 49ers, Rams, Cowboys and Raiders were listed as possible suitors for Burgess.

Julian Blackmon, Utah

Blackmon did not compete in the combine but did the physical and interviews but no on-field work. He popped up in four mocks with one projection coming in the third round, one in the fourth round and two in the fifth round.

The recovery process from his injury will be critical on whether he goes up or down on draft boards.

Javelin Guidry, Utah

Guidry ran the second fastest 40-yard dash at the combine and the fastest among defensive backs. He also posted 21 reps on the bench press which is impressive for defensive backs.

The former Ute showed up in two mock drafts that had seven rounds. One had him going in the third round and the other in the sixth round.

Francis Bernard, Utah

Like Guidry, Bernard also showed up in two mock drafts that had seven rounds of projections. One had him going in the fifth round with the other in the seventh round.

David Woodward, Utah State

Former Utah State Aggies linebacker David Woodward appeared in four mock drafts. One was in the third round, another in the fifth round with two projecting Woodard to be taken in the seventh round.

Tyler Huntley, Utah

Huntley did not receive an invitation to the combine but is still showing up on mock drafts. Three mocks have Huntley going in three different rounds. One in each the fifth, sixth and seventh rounds.

The Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys were the teams projected in the mocks to take Huntley.
