PGA Tour To Charter Jumbo Jets For Players, Caddies Once Play Resumes

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The first event on the PGA Tour calendar scheduled to take place following the extended break caused by the coronavirus is a month away. On June 11, PGA Tour professionals and their caddies will visit Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas to participate in the re-opening of the PGA Tour season at the Charles Schwab Classic.

Golf.com writer, Alan Shipnuck, has reported that the PGA Tour intends on chartering private jumbo jets to haul its players to and from events with the hope of keeping the players and caddies in a germ-free environment.

Ooooh, little nugget of news from the Scottsdale Open range: when play resumes the PGA Tour will charter jumbo jets to ferry players and caddies from tournament to tournament, helping to keep them in a germ-free bubble.

The PGA Tour plans on being one of the first sporting organizations to return to play following the extended sporting hiatus.

“The health and safety of all associated with the PGA Tour and our global community continues to be our No. 1 priority, and our hope is to play a role – responsibly – in the world’s return to enjoying the things we love,” PGA Commissioner Jay Monahan said on April 16.

“As we’ve stressed on several occasions, we will resume competition only when – working closely with our tournaments, partners and communities – it is considered safe to do so under the guidance of the leading public health authorities.”

Fifty-two PGA TOUR victories including 11 in a row.
